Video Poker

The game of video poker is played with a 52 card deck of cards ( 53 for games containing the joker ). To play you simply select a bet level and press deal, you are then dealt five cards. At this point you can hold some, all or none of the cards and then get  new cards.

The Different Video Poker Hands

One Pair
Two cards showing the same value

Two Pairs
Two sets of two cards of the same value or picture

Three of a Kind
Three cards showing the same number or picture from different suits

Straight
Five cards of any suit in consecutive order. Example : 3,4,5,6 and 7

Flush
Five cards of the same suit ( Spades, Clubs, Diamonds or Hearts )

Full House
One pair and one three of a kind

Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same value or picture from different suits

Straight Flush
Five suited consecutive cards. Example 3,4,5,6 and 7 of clubs

Royal Flush
Ace, King, Queen, Jack and ten of the same suit.

Video Poker Game Variations
There are countless variations of video poker. The most common is known as Jacks or Better. When playing Jacks or Better the minimum hand you need for a win is a pair of two jacks hence the name.

Another popular variation is Deuces Wild. In this variation all 2's are wild and will make up the missing card of any winning combination.

Multi-hand video poker is also another popular variation where you play more than one hand at a time. The common variants are three hand, five hand and ten hand video poker although 100 hand games are also available.
